DAD'S AND GRADS.
It's graduation time again and I was hired to draw caricatures at one of the local junior high schools graduation dance. For what they paid me I was totally prepaired to show up in costume and make sure all the kids had fun.

OH MAN THAT IS CRAZINESS!
I was rewatching Blazing Saddles and came to the scene where the fight between the townsfolk and the bad guys breaks through into the neighboring studio. In the part where Slim Pickens punches Dom De Luise in the stomach one of the gay dancers jumps up and yells, "They hit Buddy!"
I would swear that it was a young Geoffry Rush! In replaying it I could also swear I hear a little tinge of an Aussie accent. No listing of him in the rolling credits and IMDB has no mention of it. Doesn't mean anything. A bit-part so long ago, Rush may not even care about people knowing.
Judge for yourselves.

I’m a killjoy. That guy looks familiar to me, too, but Geoffrey Rush is the wrong direction. Blazing Saddles (a favorite of mine and my dad’s) shot in 1973, which was when Rush was just a stage actor in Australia with the Queensland Theatre Company.
Fun fact: two years later, Rush studied to become a mime in Paris. He didn’t start screen work until 1981, and that was back in Australia.
Other fun fact: check out the wiki on Blazing Saddles for the line, “You’re sucking my arm.”
